Karla M. Niemann has practiced law for over 10 years and represents clients in various areas of civil and criminal litigation. She concentrates her practice in family law, juvenile, criminal defense, traffic and personal injury litigation.
Karla attended Freeport High School, graduating in 1988. She attended Highland Community College in Freeport, Illinois. After graduating with an Associates Degree in Science she transferred to Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois. Karla graduated from NIU with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management.
Karla received her Juris Doctor degree from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. At Florida Coastal School of Law she was on Law Review and was the recipient of the Barbara McCalla Award, which is awarded to a person who has demonstrated compassion, commitment to both the community and Florida Coastal School of Law, and a strong interest in the support of justice for the less fortunate.
Karla was an Assistant State’s Attorney from 2003-2007 with the Stephenson County State’s Attorney’s Office in Freeport, Illinois. She then engaged in the private practice of law with Mahoney and Hauser, Ltd. and has been a member of the firm since 2007.
Karla is an active member in the Stephenson County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and is a member of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Karla is a member of the Freeport Noon Kiwanis Club, a former Board Member of the Tyler’s Justice Center For Children in Stockton, Illinois, a board member at the Stephenson County Historical Society, and Human Rights Commission for Malcolm Eaton Enterprises, Freeport, IL.
